We might not know what dress she’ll wear, but we do know about Meghan Markle’s style
1 year ago

On May 19th, Meghan Markle will be walking up the aisle to marry Prince Harry. The question on everyone’s lips is; what dress will the actress wear? Ralph & Russo, makers of her engagement dress? Erdem Moralioglu? Or even Anne Barge, who Markle wore when she walked down the aisle on the recent season finale of Suits?

But the dress isn’t everything. Markle stands out because she is a breath of fresh air for the British royal family. Her approach to beauty is relaxed and natural. That’s why her recent messy bun was the subject of so much talk; the British royals always step out with perfectly styled hair. Of course, Meghan might not be able to get away with such a relaxed look for the wedding, but her messy bun has become one of the most searched for wedding hairstyles this year. Here’s a tutorial if you’d like to test it out:

Markle’s approach to skincare is also simple. Just look at the products she uses; Nivea Skin Firming Hydration cream, which she has said she would like to buy whole cases of; Bioré Daily Deep Pore Cleansing Cloths, which are perfect for a busy schedule, and which Markle says are "great to keep in the car and on your nightstand when you have those horribly lazy nights.”

With makeup too, Markle goes for the natural look. She never wants to cover her freckles, so she uses Chanel Sublimage foundation to lightly wash over certain areas of her face. She also uses Make Up For Ever HD powder, which she says, "lets your skin look shiny and fresh, but not greasy-shiny." And to add a fresh, pink glow to her face, she uses, NARS Orgasm blush. One of her favorite products is MAC's Teddy eyeliner, which was recommended to her by makeup artist Kayleen McAdams. It’s perfect for dark eyes, because it’s brown with a hint of gold.

But the most important thing about Markle is that she is confident in her own style. It hasn’t been easy for her to relax into her own skin, as she detailed in her Elle essay from 2015, but the idea of not being forced into a particular box is a fundamental part of who she is. Perhaps this is the most inspiring tip of all.
